Trajectory Designer

The Trajectory Designer is a powerful decision aid for flight crews, which allows exploring alternative speed-altitude scenarios for the remaining route to the destination. Quick and easy comparisons of key metrics such as fuel burn, arrival time and total cost give flight crews a better understanding of the economic impact of their on-board actions and enable them to proactively seek ways of minimizing trip cost.

Easy definition of alternative trajectories

Flight crews can easily define alternative trajectories by varying speed and altitude or arrival time using the intuitive touch interface. Adjusting the parameter values requires no typing at all – simply slide the buttons across the screen with your finger.


Instant forecast of fuel consumption and ETA

During definition, manual trajectories are automatically benchmarked against the original trajectory in terms of trip fuel, arrival time and overall cost. The results of the comparison are instantly displayed as relative values in an easy-to-read table. The Trajectory Designer also offers a detailed view with annotated operational parameters such as cruise steps, top of descent and cross-over altitude.


Increased operational efficiency

The Trajectory Designer provides flight crews with all the information necessary to make a timely and reasoned decision about how to continue the current flight at the lowest possible cost and allows pilots to get directly involved in their airline’s operational efficiency management efforts. For maximum benefit, the Trajectory Designer can be integrated with  Live View, which continuously checks the flown trajectory against the planned as well as the most cost-efficient trajectory.
