Pacelab Suite 5.0 now available
October 28, 2010Berlin-based software provider PACE today announced the immediate availability of a major upgrade of its conceptual design platform Pacelab Suite. Pacelab Suite 5.0 introduces significant new capabilities supporting the setup of parametric product models including an enhanced component library and comprehensive functionality for the graphical-interactive definition of component connections.
Pacelab Suite 5.0 enables users to graphically define physical and abstract connections between components (e.g. electrical wiring, chronological order or logical links) and automatically translates them into mathematical relations. A connection drawn between two electrical components, for example, will create the required power summation formulas or propagate voltages which take into account the voltage drops induced by the resistance of the physical cable connection. For optimum user guidance, suitable component connections are highlighted in the interactive definition process.
With version 5.0, the frontend of the component database has been completely redesigned now offering an icon-driven, catalog-like handling. Components can be complemented with comprehensive documentation to help engineers select the appropriate building blocks when setting up their product model. Supporting texts and images can simply be added from office applications and similar tools.
The upgrade’s new capabilities will also benefit users of PACE’s vertical solutions for conceptual aircraft design and systems architecture, which draw on the functional infrastructure provided by the Pacelab Suite platform.
